After-holidays detox: tips for a flawless, radiant look

Christmas holidays are almost over – and luckily, so are Christmas binges. If you love to always look your best, a pleasant way to welcome New Year is a complete detox cycle. Not only will you move in 2020 with an impeccable skin & body, but you will also set up new beauty routines that will easily become habits – thus assuring a polished, luxurious appearance throughout the whole year.

.

In this post, you will find some useful tips to achieve astonishing results in no time, and on budget.

To start with, consider that – as explained in detail in a previous post – one of the first things to do if you want to get a rested, youthful, attractive appearance and look radiant in a few days is a shrewd choice of food.

You can then complete your beauty regime with some products that proved to be very helpful.

The first step to take is undoubtedly a quick detox mask. If you love DIY, you can simply mix raw salt with lemon juice, and pass it on your face and body, then rinse. If you prefer ready-to-use, there are many detox products that will make your skin look healthy and glowing, drawing out dirt to liven up your skin and detoxifying and clarifying your skin.

You can opt for a daily routine, or for more powerful products to be used 1-2 times a week.

Though, don’t forget that intense use of powerful blends can dry your skin while cleansing. Therefore, be sure to complete your beauty treatment with a nourishing cream. The nutritive and anti-age ingredients will work on a deeper level on your skin, thanks to the cleansing action of the mask that will remove any superficial dirt.

For your everyday cleansing routine, it’s better to pick out products with slightly richer texture, so as not to excessively dry your skin.

For instance, the minerals detox mask below will leave your skin smooth and glowing thanks to the combination of detox and nourishing ingredients (it combines charcoal for purifying and papaya enzyme to refine skin). Plus, it contains natural bergamot and eucalyptus fragrance is perfect for a complete sensation of well-being.

.

Another powerful product is chia seed oil (together with coconut oil – see here for details). The product below is a lightweight, organic multi-use oil enriched with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Used for hair, it adds strengthens, softness, and sheen. It soothes, calms and nourishes the skin, and for this reason, it can be used for hair as well as face (whereas richer coconut oil is more suitable for ultra-dry hair and for the body).

.

Another product I’m fond of is Garnier hair food. Until a few years ago, Garnier used to be a not-so-natural brand, but lately, it started using a higher percentage of natural ingredients, which makes Hair food one of the best products I have ever used for hair – and it comes to such a small price! You won’t believe me, but I started using it for my body as well (once I had run out of my usual coconut oil cream), and the result is amazing!

.

And don’t forget to combine beauty products with facial massage, both manual as well as with the help of face rollers as in the picture below (you will find countless tutorials on the Internet). It will allow you to achieve a rested, luxurious-looking appearance in a go.

.

Last but not least: if you crave for something sweet but healthy in your detox cycle, here the recipe of an easy, non-dairy, gluten-free yet delicious dessert I learned from a friend of mine: boil 4-5 sliced yellow apples with ½ cup of water until the apples become very soft. Add 2 spoons of honey. In a separate bowl, mix ½ cup of water with 3 spoons of custard pudding powder, and add this blend to the prepared mixture. Keep stirring for about 3-4 minutes after the blend starts boiling. Let it completely cool, then enjoy your dessert – or share it with your loved ones, if you want. The success is guaranteed!
